Education & Career

Shane grew up in DeFuniak Springs and graduated from Pensacola Junior College and the University of Florida, where he received a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy. After completing his education, Shane returned home to DeFuniak Springs, where he worked at a local independent pharmacy for seven years before he and a business partner opened their own pharmacy, The Prescription Place, in 2006 and a second location in 2015. In addition to his pharmacy practice, Shane and his family also own and operate the Firestone Tire Service Center in DeFuniak Springs, giving him a first-hand understanding of the challenges facing small business owners in Florida.

Community Leadership

Beyond his business ventures, Shane has long been a committed leader in his community through various service roles. He served on the Northwest Florida State College Board of Trustees starting in 2016, eventually serving as vice-chair, and remains active with the Institutional Advisory Committee for Emerald Coast Technical College. As a dedicated advocate for the pharmacy profession, he is a long-standing member of the Florida Pharmacy Association. His faith also guides his local involvement as a board member of the Emerald Coast Fellowship of Christian Athletes, a member of the Gideons, and an active member of Destiny Worship Center in Freeport.

Public Service

Shane's transition to public service in Tallahassee began with his election to the Florida House of Representatives in 2022, followed by a successful re-election in 2024 to represent District 5. During his tenure, he has risen to key leadership positions, currently serving as the Vice Chair of the Economic Infrastructure Subcommittee and as a member of the Health & Human Services Committee and the Select Committee on Property Taxes. His colleagues frequently look to his professional expertise in healthcare and business to help navigate complex policy decisions that impact every Florida family.

Legislative Record

In the legislature, Shane has delivered significant results by leveraging his background as a pharmacist to pass landmark reforms that crack down on pharmacy middlemen and lower the cost of prescription drugs. He continues to champion the needs of rural communities by fighting for critical infrastructure funding and has taken a leading role in the 2026 session by filing House Joint Resolution 207 to provide lasting property tax relief to homeowners. Shane's legislative record is defined by a commitment to the conservative values of his district, from defending the right to life to protecting Second Amendment rights.
